Bi-Quad Antenna, Biquad

Quad antennas are a type of loop antenna with a square geometric shape. The length of each edge is a multiple of the antenna wavelength, most commonly chosen to be λ / 4. A Biquad antenna is a simple evolution of the standard quad, where the radiating element comprises of two mirrored quad formations.

The antenna exhibits an omnidirectional radiation pattern and its polarisation depends on the axis in which the quad shapes reside - if the quad is mirrored horizontally, horizontal polarisation is exhibited - if the quads are positioned vertically, vertical polarisation is achieved.
