The connector is designed to operate efficiently in a frequency range up to 4 GHz. The socket at the center of the connector is recessed, distinguishing it from the male counterpart. The outer diameter of the connector is typically around 6 mm, making it smaller than many other RF connectors. Unique to the SMB series, the male connector slots inside the female connector.
