3G Network

Claro Peru was the first company in Peru to launch 3G services in July 2007. This marked a significant milestone in the country's telecommunications landscape, enabling faster mobile internet access and improved connectivity. The introduction of 3G technology on B2 (1900 MHz) and B5 (850 MHz) allowed Claro Peru to offer enhanced mobile services, including video streaming and high-speed internet, which laid the foundation for future advancements in mobile communications.

    4G Network

Claro Peru launched its 4G LTE network on May 21, 2014, using the existing 1900 MHz spectrum. This deployment marked a new era of mobile connectivity, offering faster data speeds and improved network reliability. In 2015, Claro Peru expanded its 4G services by deploying fixed wireless LTE TDD service in band 42, targeting connectivity in rural and remote areas, until its refarming into 5G services in 2021. On September 6, 2016, Claro announced the commercial use of the APT700 spectrum, further enhancing its 4G network capabilities. The deployment of LTE Band 28 (700 MHz APT) in late 2016 doubled Claro Peru's LTE footprint, adding 900 new localities and reaching a total of 1,854 localities across the country.

      5G Network

Claro Peru, along with Entel, was cleared to offer 5G new radio (NR) fixed-wireless internet services via their existing 3.5 GHz spectrum holdings in March 2021. This approval by Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) marked the beginning of 5G deployment in the country. Claro Peru spearheaded the rollout of fixed-wireless 5G services, focusing on enhancing internet speeds and expanding coverage. The planning phase for an upcoming auction of 3.5 GHz and 26 GHz spectrum was completed, with the ministry set to reveal the details and timeline of the tender process. Claro Peru's efforts in 5G deployment are part of a broader strategy to improve connectivity and support Peru's economic recovery through advanced telecommunications technology.
