3G Network
Comium Gambia initially focused on providing 2G services upon its launch in 2007. The company did not feature a 3G network in its service offerings, as the focus shifted towards more advanced technologies.
4G Network
Comium Gambia embarked on deploying 4G services as part of its network upgrade strategy from 2G. The company launched its 4G+ network in The Gambia, marking a significant milestone in its technological advancement. This launch was part of a comprehensive network overhaul initiated under the management of Monty Mobile. The 4G+ network was officially launched on January 15, 2024, following a testing phase where subscribers were offered free SIM cards and data bundles. The deployment of 4G+ services was aimed at providing faster speeds, wider coverage, and affordable data bundles to the Gambian market. The network upgrade included the implementation of a full-fledged native cloud core capable of supporting technologies from 2G to 5G.
