Deutsche Telekom AG is a German telecommunications company headquartered in Bonn. It was formed in 1995 following the privatization of Deutsche Bundespost, which had been the state monopoly for postal and telecommunications services. The German government retains a significant stake in the company, holding 14.5% directly and an additional 17.4% through the government bank KfW.
The company operates several subsidiaries globally, including the well-known mobile communications brand T-Mobile. Deutsche Telekom is listed on the EURO STOXX 50 stock market index and is one of the largest telecommunications providers in Europe by revenue.
