Digicel Group launched its Digicel Dominica network in May 2006 after acquiring local operator Cingular Wireless, and expanding with the acquisition of Orange Dominica in September 2009 to become the largest mobile network in the country. Digicel Group launched in Jamaica in 2001, and has since expanded rapidly spaning across 31 markets in the Caribbean, Central America and Asia Pacific.
