3G Network
FL1 Telecom Liechtenstein's 3G network was part of its initial offerings launched in June 2007, utilising the 2100 MHz band. This network facilitated the transition from 2G to more advanced mobile services, providing customers with enhanced data capabilities. However, the 3G network was shut down by 31 December 2023, as part of a broader strategy to transition towards more advanced 4G and 5G networks. This shutdown aligned with similar actions by other operators in the region, such as Swisscom and 7acht (Salt), to streamline network operations and focus on newer technologies.

4G Network
FL1 Telecom Liechtenstein launched its 4G LTE network in February 2015. FL1 had commercially launched 150 Mbps LTE in Band 20, enhancing its service offerings and meeting the growing demand for mobile data. The network later added additional frequencies, including 2100 and 2600 MHz bands, to expand coverage and improve service quality. Over the years, FL1 continued to upgrade its 4G network, focusing on increasing capacity and coverage to support a growing customer base.

5G Network
In January 2023, Telecom Liechtenstein received approval to expand its 5G network within the Principality of Liechtenstein. The company partnered with Nokia to modernise its mobile network infrastructure, preparing it for the deployment of 5G technology. The new 5G network, expected to be introduced to FL1 customers by mid-2023, promised peak data rates of up to 10 Gbps, extremely low latency, and high energy efficiency. This expansion required FL1 customers to have an FL1 LIFE subscription and a 5G-capable smartphone. Although Liechtenstein's legal framework did not allow for the full utilisation of 5G performance at the time, the foundation was laid for reliable real-time communication between mobile devices, enabling innovations in various industries, such as mobility, transport, and Industry 4.0.
