Hormuud Telecom Somalia Inc. is a privately owned telecommunications company based in Mogadishu, Somalia. Established in 2002 by a small group of shareholders, including its current CEO, Ahmed Mohamed Yusuf, Hormuud Telecom began with 16 telecommunication sites and aimed to connect people in Somalia with life-changing services. The company launched its fixed phone line service and GSM, a second-generation digital mobile network, in the same year as its establishment.

The company is the largest telecommunications company in the country, and the largest private-sector employer. It operates numerous services that are widely used by Somalis, including its mobile money transfer service, EVC Plus. Hormuud Telecom is also the first private enterprise in Somalia to be internationally ISO certified. As of 2021, the company has more than 3.6 million subscribers in Somalia, and it employs more than 20,000 full-time and part-time staff.
