4G LTE-A was launched in April 2018 over the B7 (2600 MHz) band, with the company advising that it would utilise its 25 MHz holding in the 1800 MHz band to add an additional B3 (1800 MHz) service to operate in 2C CA. Kyivstar announced it had completed rollout of its B3 (1800 MHz) carrier in March 2019.
Following testing in late 2018 and early 2019, Kyivstar commercially launched NB-IoT services over the B3 (1800 MHz) band in February 2019.
In response to mass migration resulting from the Russian invasion, the company launched additional B40 (2300 MHz) carriers to increase capacity in affected areas.
