Liberty Puerto Rico, also known as Liberty Communications of Puerto Rico LLC, is a telecommunications company based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The company was established in 1999, succeeding TCI Cable. Liberty Puerto Rico provides an array of services including broadband internet, VoIP, television and wireless services, covering the entirety of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Originally operating as OneLink Communications, the company was owned by MidOcean Partners and Crestview Partners until it was acquired by Liberty Global. On November 7, 2013, Liberty Puerto Rico announced the phasing out of the OneLink Communications brand, replacing it with Liberty. As of December 29, 2017, the company is wholly owned by Liberty Latin America, following the split from Liberty Global and the acquisition of the remaining 40% minority stake from Searchlight Capital Partners on October 17, 2018. In 2019, Liberty Latin America announced the acquisition of AT&T Wireless Services in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with the sale completed in November 2020. By September 2021, the AT&T brand was fully phased out, with all AT&T stores on the island rebranded to Liberty.
