Libyana Mobile Phone is a Libyan telecommunications company that was established in January 2004. The firm is one of the two primary mobile phone operators in the country, with ownership held by the Libyan Post Telecommunications & Information Technology Company (LPTIC). The company's network coverage was significantly impacted due to infrastructure damages following the Libyan revolution in 2011. This resulted in power shortages and reduced mobile network coverage in certain areas of Libya. During this period, East Libyan rebels established Free Libyana.
3G Network
Libyana implemented 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz, and in September 2009 was the first network operator to launch 3G (B1) services in North Africa.
