M1 Limited, commonly known as M1, is a telecommunications company based in Singapore. The company was founded in 1994, initially under the consortium name MobileOne. Its founding shareholders included notable entities such as Cable & Wireless plc, Hong Kong Telecom, Keppel Telecommunications, and Singapore Press Holdings. M1 was the first firm outside of the government-owned Singtel to acquire a cellular licence in Singapore. The company went public in 2002, trading on the Singapore Exchange until 2019.
M1 is currently a subsidiary of Keppel Corporation and Singapore Press Holdings, which jointly own the company through their venture, Konnectivity. This joint venture took over the ownership after buying out Axiata's shares in M1 in 2019, leading to M1's delisting from the Singapore Exchange.
