Manx Telecom Ltd., a telecommunications company based in the Isle of Man, was created as a subsidiary of British Telecom in 1986. This creation was in response to a tender process announced by the Manx Government in 1985, which sought to award a 20-year licence to operate the telephone system in the Isle of Man. Manx Telecom successfully won the tender and officially commenced operations from 1 January 1987.

In terms of ownership, Manx Telecom has changed hands several times. Initially, it became part of mmO2 in 2001 following the demerger of BT Wireless's operations from BT Group. It was later acquired by Telefónica in 2006. In 2010, Manx Telecom was sold to UK private equity investor HgCapital, who purchased the majority stake alongside telecoms management company CPS Partners. The company floated on the AIM market in 2014. As of 9 May 2019, private equity investor Basalt Infrastructure Partners LLP owns Manx Telecom.
