Mascom Wireless Proprietary Limited is a mobile telecommunications company based in Gaborone, Botswana. The company was established on February 17, 1998, by Strive Masiyiwa. The initial controlling stake was owned by Portugal Telecom until 2003. Later, in 2005, MTN Group acquired a 44% stake in Mascom. Dzene Makhwade-Seboni took over as the Chief Operations Officer in 2016 and ascended to the role of CEO in 2019.

3G Network
3G UMTS services over B1 (2100 MHz) began in August 2008. In June 2012 Mascom announced the aggressive expansion of HSPA+ technology, which upon completion saw close to 80% of Botswana’s population able to access mobile broadband with data rates of up to 21 Mbps. Concurrent to the HSPA+ "3.5G" deployment, the 2G GPRS network was also upgraded to increase capacity by over 50%.

Shortly following Orange's LTE launch, Mascom switched on its 4G LTE network in February 2015 over B3 (1800 MHz), using a 5 MHz channel.
