Orange is the largest mobile network operating in Moldova. The company began operations in February 1998, launching its first service in October of that year. Initially Voxtel, the company was purchased by France Telecom in April 2006, rebranding to Orange Moldova by April 2007. The company is a majority owned subsidiary of French international telecommunications operator Orange Group, who have a presence in 29 countries and markets across the globe.
3G Network
The company launched its 3G network in November 2008 over the B1 (2100 MHz) band. The network was upgraded to HSPA+ in December 2009.

4G Network
The company's 4G LTE network was launched in November 2012 using the B7 (2600 MHz) band. Orange later acquired additional spectrum for LTE in 800 MHz and 900 MHz bands in November 2015 and in January 2016 launched 300 Mbps LTE-Advanced service in 1000 cities. A B66 carrier has been implemented in certain locations.
