3G Network

Orange Slovensko commenced its 3G services with the deployment of the UMTS B1 (2100 MHz) frequency band in August 2006. The company was the first to cover more than 66% of Slovakia with 3G U900 and DC-HSPA+ high-speed internet, offering maximum speeds of 42 Mbit/s by 2011. By 2023, Orange announced plans to phase out its 3G network to focus on enhancing 4G and 5G services. The shutdown began in January 2024 and was completed by the end of February 2024, enabling the reuse of frequencies for more modern networks.
