Singtel, officially known as Singapore Telecommunications Limited, is a leading telecommunications company based in Singapore. Established in 1879 as a postal services entity, it transitioned into mobile telecommunications in 1992 following the rebrand from Private Telephone Exchange to Singapore Telecom. Singtel is majority-owned by Temasek Holdings, a Singaporean state-owned investment company, which holds a significant stake in the corporation. The company is traded on the Singapore stock exchange (SGX: Z74).

3G Network

The company launched its 3G network in May 2007 over the B1 (2100 MHz) band. The network shutdown was scheduled for end-of-year 2024.

    4G Network

    The company's 4G LTE network was launched in December 2011 using the B3 (1800 MHz) band. SingTel announced in May 2013 the company had achieved nationwide coverage and upgraded its network to Cat 4. By May 28, 2014 SingTel unveiled its 300 Mbps Cat 6 LTE-Advanced network, which combines 20 MHz band 3 and 20 MHz B7 spectrum and announced that the 300 Mbps service was available nationwide from March 2015.

    SingTel commercially launched 450 Mbps LTE-Advanced using 256QAM in January 2017. NB-IoT and LTE-M services were launched in March 2018. Additional B8, B28, and B38 carriers were later added.

      5G Network

      SingTel launched its 5G network in September 2020 initially using the n78 (3500 MHz) band, but adding n257 mmWave and n1 (2100 MHz) in December 2020 and November 2021 respectively. The network was upgraded to Standalone (SA) in May 2021, a first for the country.
