4G Network
Sudatel's domestic mobile unit, Sudani, announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network on 6 April 2017. The network offered maximum downstream speeds of 150 Mbps, with pre-paid tariffs ranging from SDG40 (approximately USD 5.9) for 2GB valid for seven days to SDG900 for 100GB valid for 30 days. This launch marked a significant upgrade in mobile broadband services in Sudan, providing faster internet speeds and improved connectivity. Sudatel's 4G network utilised spectrum in the B7 (2.5 GHz) band, enabling the delivery of LTE services across major cities in Sudan. The company continued to expand its 4G network coverage, focusing on enhancing the subscriber experience with high-speed data services.

5G Network
Sudatel has been actively exploring the deployment of 5G technology as part of its future broadband services portfolio. The company collaborated with Nokia to trial enhanced 4G, 5G, and fixed fibre broadband access technologies. These trials were conducted in Nokia's laboratories in Espoo, Finland, and Antwerp, Belgium, with a focus on the capital city, Khartoum. Sudatel planned to use Nokia's AirScale radio access network systems to deliver a range of 4G LTE services and enable an upgrade path to 5G. Additionally, Sudatel's domestic mobile unit, Sudani, announced its gradual start-up of the 5G network, becoming the first telecommunications company in Sudan to initiate this technology. The 5G experiments were conducted on the 3.5 GHz bandwidth, offering high bandwidth capacity with less than 3ms access speed. As of 12 May 2022, Sudatel continued to trial and develop its 5G capabilities, aiming to enhance its service offerings and support the Internet of Things era in Sudan.
