Telesom

Telesom is a private telecommunications company that was established in 2002 in Hargeisa, Somaliland. It was conceived by local entrepreneurs who aimed to provide a robust telecommunications infrastructure in the country. The company is recognised as the leading provider of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services in Somaliland, offering a diverse range of products that span from voice and mobile broadband to cloud offerings such as Software as a Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS). Telesom has the distinction of being the first to introduce 2G, 3G and LTE services to the country, and it has played a pivotal role in the nation's recovery post-war by enabling access to digital payments through its flagship mobile money platform, ZAAD. The company's operations are widespread across Somaliland, boasting the widest coverage network in the country, and it maintains affiliations with major telecommunications companies in neighbouring countries.
