4G Network
Telkomcel launched its 4G LTE network on September 28, 2017, in collaboration with Ericsson. This launch marked the company's 5th anniversary and was a significant milestone in its operations in Timor-Leste. The 4G network was deployed using the virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) and Ericsson Radio System software release, LTE RAN 17A. This deployment introduced several LTE technology enhancements, increasing network speed, capacity, and overall performance. The 4G network operated on the 1800 MHz frequency band (B3) and provided territorial coverage of 70% across all 13 districts of Timor-Leste. By 2020, Telkomcel had catered to the telecommunication demands of more than 450,000 subscribers, holding a significant market share in the cellular services market in Timor-Leste.
