3 Danmark is the smallest and most recent mobile network operating in Denmark. Formed as a joint venture between CK Hutchinson Holdings (60%) and Investor AB (40%), the company began operations in October 2003. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings, a multinational conglomerate based in Hong Kong. The brand was officially founded on March 3, 2003, in Hong Kong, and has since then expanded its operations to several countries, including Denmark. Three Denmark, along with Three Sweden, operates a common network covering most of the two countries, allowing customers to receive calls without paying roaming fees when they are on either network. CK Hutchison Holdings owns direct majority interests in these networks through its subsidiary, 3 Group Europe.
