TriMob LLC, trading as 3Mob, is a Ukrainian telecommunications company that was established on November 1, 2007. It was originally known as Utel, a subsidiary of Ukrtelecom, which was a government-owned fixed phone operator. TriMob pioneered the commercial 3G cellular network in Ukraine, based on the UMTS/HSDPA standard. The company is headquartered in Kyiv and was the first Ukrainian UMTS/WCDMA mobile network operator. In 2015, TriMob and Vodafone signed a national roaming agreement, allowing TriMob users access to Vodafone's 2G network without surcharges. As of 2020, TriMob's operations primarily relied on national 2G/3G roaming through Vodafone Ukraine's network, following the deactivation of most of its network base stations outside Kyiv.

3G Network

TriMob launched its 3G network on November 1, 2007, operating on the UMTS 2100 MHz frequency band. Until 2015, it was the only network in Ukraine providing UMTS 2100 service. The company's 3G coverage was initially limited to Kyiv, with free 2G/3G roaming available in the Vodafone-Ukraine network. By 2020, TriMob had shut down all its network base stations except those in Kyiv, transitioning to rely mainly on 2G/3G network coverage via its existing domestic roaming partner Vodafone Ukraine. This decision was influenced by the financial burden of maintaining the 2×15MHz of 2100MHz national spectrum, which TriMob had held since 2005. Consequently, TriMob returned almost all of its national 3G UMTS mobile frequencies to Ukraine’s regulator by December 2019.
