Tunisie Telecom is the primary telecommunications operator in Tunisia, providing both fixed and mobile telephony services. The state-owned company began operations 1995, and activated its first mobile services in March 1998. Tunisie Telecom was transformed into a public company in April 2004, with 35% ownership sold to Emirati TeCom-DIG in 2006.

Tunisie Telecom has extended its operations beyond national borders, with a significant presence in the international telecommunications market. In 2016, it became a European telecoms operator through the acquisition of a 60% share in the Maltese telecommunications company GO.

3G Network

The company has provided 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz, and began 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz) in August 2011.

    4G Network

    4G LTE was launched in March 2016 over the B3 (1800 MHz) and B20 (800 MHz) bands, advertising peak data rates of 150 Mbps. In May 2018 TT in partnership with Huawei tested 4x4 MIMO and 256QAM LTE-A Pro technologies, along with 3C aggregation and demonstrated peak data rates in excess of 700 Mbps.

    The company has a joint infrastructure operation agreement with Ooredoo Tunisia.
