Ucom is a telecommunications company that was established in 2009 in Armenia. The company was the first in the country to introduce the "fibre-optics to the home" solution, providing high-quality television (IPTV), high-speed internet connection and digital telephone services. Ucom operates its internet services through its own fibre-optic channel that links Armenia with Georgia, enabling transit internet to the Middle East.
In 2013, Ucom was granted a licence to provide public mobile internet services. It expanded into the Armenian mobile market in 2015 after acquiring a 100% stake in Orange Armenia. This move led to the launch of the 4G+ network in Armenia, supplementing the company's combined services. Ucom is currently owned by FORA-BANK Joint-Stock Commercial Bank, part of Tashir Group, following a partnership agreement signed in April 2017. The agreement has facilitated the expansion of 4Play offers and the 4G+ network across Armenia, with plans for further expansion, particularly in Russia.
