Unite Moldtelecom is the national telecommunications operator in the Republic of Moldova and is also the largest telecommunications company in the country. The company was established on 1 April 1993 after the restructuring of the telecommunications sector in Moldova. Originally a state-owned enterprise, Moldtelecom underwent a reorganisation on 5 January 1999, transitioning into a Joint-Stock Company. The State of Moldova is the unique founder and stockholder of the company. The company provides a full range of telecommunication services including fixed-line telephony, mobile telephony, internet, data transport, and digital television.
