Vietnamobile is a mobile network operator based in Vietnam. Established in 2007 as HT Mobile, it is a joint venture between Hanoi Telecom, a local telecommunications company, and Hutchison Asia Telecom Group, a multinational conglomerate specialising in mobile telecommunications. In 2009, the company underwent a rebranding and adopted the name Vietnamobile. In addition to the name change, the company also transitioned its technology from CDMA to the more widely used GSM. In late 2011, Vietnamobile began offering 3G services, expanding its product portfolio to keep pace with major competitors in the telecommunications market.
