Vodafone Greece, officially known as Vodafone-Panafon Hellenic Telecommunications Company S.A, was established in 1992 as Panafon. The company was founded with the participation of Vodafone Group Plc., France Telecom, Intracom and Data Bank. In January 2002, the company underwent a name change, officially becoming Vodafone Greece. The company's shares were listed on the Athens and London stock exchanges in December 1998. However, in July 2004, Vodafone Greece de-listed from the Athens stock exchange. The majority shareholder of Vodafone Greece is Vodafone Group Plc., holding 99.8% of the shares.
3G Network
The company launched its 3G network in November 2006 over the B1 (2100 MHz) band. The network was shut down mid-2023.

4G Network
The company's 4G LTE network was commercially launched in June 2013 using the B3 (1800 MHz) band, following an initial data-only service which ran from December 2012.
In February 2015 Vodafone implemented 300 Mbps LTE-Advanced in parts of Athens using carrier aggregation of B3 and B7. Tri-band 375 Mbps LTE-Advanced was trialled in 2015, combining B3, B7 and B20 spectrum. A 20 MHz B1 carrier was added following the 3G shutdown in 2023.
NB-IoT services were launched over the company's B20 carrier.
