Vodafone Ireland Limited is a telecommunications company based in Ireland, established as a result of the Vodafone Group's acquisition of Eircell, the mobile division of Telecom Éireann. It operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Vodafone Group. The company provides a comprehensive suite of mobile phone network and broadband services. Vodafone Ireland's services cover 99% of the island of Ireland, making it a significant player in the Irish telecommunications market. The company launched its 4G network in October 2013 and has since expanded its technology offering to include 5G services, introduced in 2019.
3G Network
The company has operated 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz since July 1993, and in November 2006 launched 3G UMTS over B1 (2100 MHz), which it upgraded to DC-HSPA+ in September 2011.
Its 3G network was shut down 30th April 2024.

4G Network
4G LTE services began in October 2013 when Vodafone launched a B20 (800 MHz) network, which was progressively rolled out over the following three years. The network was upgraded to LTE-Advanced in December 2014, which used 2C aggregation with B3 (1800 MHz) to provide peak data rates up to 150 Mbps. B3 channel width was extended to 20 MHz in July 2015, permitting peak data rates up to 225 Mbps.
Gigabit LTE tests were conducted in partnership with Ericsson in March 2017.
Vodafone Ireland has deployed an NB-IoT network, with a soft-launch of the service taking place November 2016 and a full commercial launch shortly after in August 2017.
Following the 3G switch-off, B1 was refarmed to provide a 20 MHz 4G LTE carrier.

5G Network
Vodafone Ireland's 5G network was launched August 2019 over the n78 (3500 MHz) band. DSS was enabled on n1 and n28 bands.
