Operation of wireless network equipment on the Australian 24 GHz band is governed by Section 23 of the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Class Licence 2015.

LIPD Class 2000 legislation permits the operation of all transmitters between the range of 24000 to 24250 MHz, provided they operate under the conditions outlined below. Separate licencing applies for RFID and Radar.
