This band was released under the LIPD Class License in 2018, permitting the operation of "Data communications transmitters" without a licensing fee, provided conditions of the LIPD Class Licence were observed.

  • Frequency range 59000 to 63000 MHz
  • The transmitter must not be operated on board an aircraft
  • The maximum transmitter power must not exceed 20 mW
  • The transmitter must not cause spurious emissions outside the band at or greater than –30 dBm/MHz
  • The transmitter must only be used outdoors.
Microwave PTP, Multipoint
Fixed point-to-point links used outdoors, No Limit
  • The transmitter must comply with FCC Rules Title 47 Part 15 Section 255
  • The transmitter must not be operated in the 58200–59000 MHz or 64000–65000 MHz bands within a nominated distance of a specified Australian radio-astronomy site (further provisions apply)
Microwave PTP
All other transmitters, 100 mW
  • Operating within 57000 to 64000 MHz
  • The maximum transmitter power must not exceed 10 mW.
  • The maximum radiated power spectral density must not exceed 13dBm per 1 MHz.

  • Operating within the global ISM frequency range 61000 to 61500 MHz
