Environmental testing - Part 2-27: Tests - Test Ea and guidance: Shock

Equivalent to MIL-STD-202, Method 213, Test Condition D

The IEC 60068-2-27: Mechanical Shock test standard outlines the uniform procedures for testing the ability of components, equipment, and systems to withstand mechanical shocks. This standard is applicable to both the transportation and operational environments. It is designed to evaluate the performance of the tested items under conditions of rapid acceleration or deceleration, particularly for lightweight devices with a high centre of gravity. The test methods include half-sine, trapezoidal, and sawtooth waveforms. The standard also provides guidance on the severity levels of the shocks.
