Cambium 30 Vdc PoE, a vendor-specific PoE, refers to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) implementation provided by Cambium Networks. This technology enables the transmission of electrical power and data to devices over Ethernet cabling, eliminating the need for separate power sources. The Cambium 30 Vdc Passive PoE is differentiated due to its delivery of a higher voltage of 30 volts direct current (Vdc), compared to the standard Passive PoE solutions that typically deliver between 15 to 25 Vdc.

Most Cambium ePMP devices require 14 to 30 V.

The pinout is wired such that pins 7,8 are + 30V, and pins 4,5 are a return, meaning Cambium 30 Vdc devices are not compatible with IEEE 802.3af/at/bt switches.

Powering from standard 24 Vdc Passive PoE

To power Cambium ePMP devices with a standard 24 Vdc Passive PoE injector (such as those made for Ubiquiti), a crossover cable is the most economical solution. The crossover wiring is detailed below. While this diagram has been supplied by Cambium, you should check the device's warranty conditions prior to implementation.

For powering Cambium 30 Vdc PoE devices in a DC-DC environment, we recommend a MSTronic PoE injector such as M2M-TY-00018.
