FDMA

Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) is a channel access method used in telecommunications. It divides the frequency band into multiple distinct channels, each assigned to an individual user. This enables multiple users to transmit data simultaneously without interference. FDMA is primarily used in satellite and mobile communication systems. In FDMA, the total available bandwidth is split into narrower bands or channels. Each of these channels is then assigned to a user for a designated period. The channels are separated by guard bands to prevent overlapping and interference. One of the main advantages of FDMA is its simplicity and predictability. However, it can be inefficient if a user doesn't have enough data to fill a frequency band, leading to underutilisation of the bandwidth.
