Bluetooth 5.4

The Bluetooth SIG launched the Bluetooth Core Specification Version 5.4 in February 2023. This version introduces the following features: 

• Periodic Advertising with Responses (PAwR) - PAwR is a novel Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) logical transport offering a method to execute energy-efficient, bi-directional, communication in a large-scale one-to-many topology. 
• Encrypted Advertising Data - This feature provides a standardised approach to the secure broadcasting of data in advertising packets. 
• LE GATT Security Levels Characteristic - Devices can now indicate the security mode and level necessary for all their GATT functionality to be accessible using a new GATT characteristic named LE GATT Security Levels. 
• Advertising Coding Selection - The Host can now designate which of two supported long range coding options are utilised with LE extended advertising.
