The n12 band is a Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) band utilised in 5G NR networks, with a central frequency around 700 MHz. Originally allocated for television broadcasting, it has been repurposed for mobile communication and has played a significant role in 4G LTE networks, especially in North America. Now it has been made available for 5G deployment. Its lower frequency range allows for excellent coverage and signal penetration, making it well-suited for widespread coverage in rural and remote areas, as well as indoor coverage in urban areas. As n12 overlaps with other 700 MHz bands such as the popular n28 band, its usage is generally restricted to countries in North America.
