Alias
1900 PCS
n2 (1900 MHz) is a Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) band used in the 5G New Radio (NR) networks, predominantly in North America. With its central frequency around 1900 MHz, the n2 band is part of the PCS (Personal Communications Service) spectrum which was historically used for 2G GSM and 3G UMTS services, and more recently for 4G LTE. Its repurposing for 5G allows operators to leverage existing passive infrastructure for 5G rollouts. The n2 band, due to its mid-band frequency, is valued for its balance of coverage and capacity, making it suitable for both urban and suburban deployments.
