Alias
NTN 1.6 GHz, MSS L-Band

Also known as "NTN 1.6 GHz", this band utilises Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) L-Band spectrum and is specifically designated for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTNs). The band uses reversed-duplexing with uplink frequencies from 1626.5 to 1660.5 MHz and downlink frequencies from 1525 to 1559 MHz. n255 is used by satellite services such as LEO constellations to provide 5G connectivity to remote and isolated areas. The n255 band was standardised in the 3GPP Release 17.0 in January 2021.
