n3 is a Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) band used in the implementation of 5G New Radio (NR) networks. The n3 band, with its central frequency located around 1800 MHz, is a portion of the spectrum commonly referred to as the DCS (Digital Cellular Service) band. Originally used for 2G GSM, and subsequently 4G LTE where it became the world's most popular 4G band, it is now being repurposed in many regions worldwide for 5G deployment. As a mid-band, n3 is particularly valuable due to its ability to offer a balanced combination of coverage and capacity, effectively supporting a broad range of 5G services in diverse settings, from densely populated urban areas to more expansive suburban and even rural locations.
