n54 (1700 MHz)

Designated the "TD 1700" band, the n54 band operates in the upper portion of the 1600 MHz spectrum and is utilised for 5G NR5G NR: 5G was developed with three broad use case families in mind: enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), massive machine-type communications (mMTC) and ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC). eMBB focuses on across-the-board enhancements to the data rate, latency, user density, capacity and… networks. This band also uses Time Division Duplexing (TDDTDD: A wireless communication technique that uses a single frequency band for both transmitting and receiving operations but separates these operations in time. In a TDD system, upstream (transmission from user equipment to base station) and downstream (transmission from base station to user equipment)…) for managing uplink and downlink traffic. The band makes use of a narrow 5 MHz channel which in many countries resides between two spectrum allocations used for meterology and radio astronomy. This band was listed in 3GPP Release 18.1 which was made available April 2023.
