Designated the "TD 1700" band, the n54 band operates in the upper portion of the 1600 MHz spectrum and is utilised for 5G NR networks. This band also uses Time Division Duplexing (TDD) for managing uplink and downlink traffic. The band makes use of a narrow 5 MHz channel which in many countries resides between two spectrum allocations used for meterology and radio astronomy. This band was listed in 3GPP Release 18.1 which was made available April 2023.
