Alias
TD 6 GHz

The "TD 6 GHz" band operates from 5925 to 7125 MHz, and has been allocated primarily for use in North America. This spectrum was previously utilised for microwave transmission but has been re-allocated by the US FCC and now available for both 5G and WiFi 6E standards in the U-NII-5/6/7/8 bands. Within Australia the ACMA conducted a review of the band for use by 6 GHz RLANs during 2021-2022 with the intention of harmonising legislation with others in the international community. This band was introduced in the 3GPP Release 16.5 in April 2020.
