Description
N connectors remain popular throughout a range of low frequency applications including UHF, 4G LTE, and WiFi technologies. Also referred to as the N-Type connector, the design is durable with good power handling characteristics.
This right angled N Male crimp connector is used to terminate LMR-240 (or equivalent) series braided coaxial cables. The connector's coupling nut is provided in a hex format to aid tightening with an appropriate torque wrench.
Attaching right angled connectors is simple. After preparing the cable, the outer body pushed over the top until the centre conductor sits within the inner contact. A small amount of solder is used to attach the centre conductor to the contact. A standard 6.5 mm (.255") hex die is then used to crimp the ferrule to the coaxial cable.
Right angled N connectors are used to facilitate connections in tight spaces that cannot support large bends, particularly with LMR-240 cables as a moderate bend radius must be maintained.
