3G Network

Digi Mobil Romania launched its 3G network in September 2009, offering services with speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps. The network was part of the company's strategy to expand its mobile services and compete in the Romanian market. Over time, the network was upgraded to support higher speeds, including 14.4 Mbps and 21 Mbps HSPA+ services, and adding U900 in 2014. However, as the company progressed towards more advanced technologies, it announced the shutdown of its 3G network in Romania. By the end of 2022, Digi Mobil had fully transitioned from 3G to 4G and 5G technologies, reutilising the 2100 MHz spectrum for its newer networks.

On October 20, 2016, Digi Mobil announced the commercial launch of its FDD band 1 service in Oradea and Pitesti, complementing its existing TDD service. The company continued to expand its 4G network, leveraging various frequency bands, including 800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2600 MHz FDD, 2600 MHz TDD, and 3500 MHz TDD. By December 2022, Digi Mobil was recognised as the Mobile Network Operator (MNO) with the widest mobile voice coverage in Romania.
