Smile Communication Tanzania Ltd, commonly known as Smile Tanzania, is a telecommunications network company operating in Tanzania. The company was officially registered in July 2009 and commenced its commercial operations in May 2013. Smile Tanzania is a subsidiary of Smile Telecoms Holdings, a South African telecommunications conglomerate. The Tanzanian operation was the first among the conglomerate's subsidiaries, marking its initial foray into the African market. Smile Tanzania holds the distinction of being the first company to introduce commercial 4G LTE services in Tanzania, beginning its operations in the city of Dar es Salaam.
