In June 2018, Telecom Niue launched an LTE network on Band 28 (700 MHz) after a year long rollout process. The network upgrade aimed to increase access speed to 150 Mbps for mobile devices, enhancing the overall user experience. Telecom Niue's 4G services are activated using a 4G capable device compatible with Band 28, with SIM cards available at the Airport or Commercial Centre at Alofi South. The company also provides internet services through ADSL and leased fibre internet lines, though the cost of satellite internet remains high. Despite this, Telecom Niue is working to improve its infrastructure, including the rollout of GPON and FTTH to increase bandwidth and speed.
