Yoigo

Yoigo, legally known as Xfera Móviles, S.A.U., is a prominent mobile network operator in Spain and is a subsidiary of the Spanish telecommunications company Grupo MásMóvil. The company, which was established in 2000, had a turbulent beginning and was primarily owned by TeliaSonera, now known as Telia Company. Despite commercial operations commencing in December 2006, the company faced numerous technical and market challenges, leading to a standstill for several years. In the early 2000s, the company's primary shareholders included the French company Vivendi, the Spanish construction company Grupo ACS, and the Scandinavian cell phone carrier Sonera, now Telia Company. After years of stagnation, TeliaSonera, a minority holder at the time, acquired a significant portion of Xfera's shares in June 2006, leading to a restart in the building of its UMTS network and the offering of mobile services. The company rebranded to Yoigo in October 2006, reflecting a commitment to simplicity and ease of use. In June 2016, Grupo MásMóvil purchased Yoigo, making it the sole property of Grupo MásMóvil.
