Zain Jordan is the largest mobile network operating in Jordan. The company began network operations as Jordan Mobile Telephone Services Company in July 1995 with the launch of the first GSM mobile services in the country. The company was rebranded as Zain in 2003 following its acquisition by Zain Group. The company remains a subsidiary of the Zain Group, a mobile telecommunications company founded in 1983 in Kuwait as MTC (Mobile Telecommunications Company), later rebranded as Zain in 2007. Zain has a commercial presence in eight countries across the Middle East with over 46 million active customers.
