802.3bt Type 4 PoE++

This standard offers significant advantages, including increased power output up to 100 Watts (at the PSE) and 71 Watts at the PD, support for more advanced devices, and improved energy efficiency. The 802.3bt Type 4 PoE++ standard is an extension of the earlier 802.3af802.3af: The 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard, also known as Type 1, was ratified by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2003. This standard allows for delivery of electrical power, along with data, to network devices over Ethernet cabling. Under the 802.3af… and 802.3at standards, which provided power up to 15.4 Watts and 30 Watts respectively. With the increased power delivery, devices such as high-performance wireless access points, surveillance cameras with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities, and even laptops can be powered using PoE++. This standard utilises all four pairs of Ethernet cabling, reducing power dissipation and increasing efficiency.
