The 802.3bt Type 4 PoE++ standard, also known as Power over Ethernet Plus Plus, is a technology that allows electrical power and data to be transmitted simultaneously over a single Ethernet cable. This standard offers significant advantages, including increased power output up to 100 Watts (at the PSE) and 71 Watts at the PD, support for more advanced devices, and improved energy efficiency. The 802.3bt Type 4 PoE++ standard is an extension of the earlier 802.3af and 802.3at standards, which provided power up to 15.4 Watts and 30 Watts respectively. With the increased power delivery, devices such as high-performance wireless access points, surveillance cameras with pan/tilt/zoom capabilities, and even laptops can be powered using PoE++. This standard utilises all four pairs of Ethernet cabling, reducing power dissipation and increasing efficiency.
