Freedom Mobile Inc. is a Canadian wireless telecommunications provider. It was established in 2008 as Wind Mobile by Globalive, a telecommunications company. Wind Mobile was one of several new mobile carriers initiated in Canada in 2008 as part of a government scheme to stimulate competition in the wireless sector. The company launched its mobile data and voice services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Ontario, in December 2009, followed by Calgary, Alberta, two days later.
In 2016, Wind Mobile was purchased by Shaw Communications and subsequently rebranded as Freedom Mobile. In 2022, Shaw Communications, Rogers Communications and Québecor announced a joint agreement for the sale of Freedom Mobile to Québecor, the parent company of Vidéotron, subject to approval. The sale to Québecor was approved and finalised in 2023.

4G Network
The company launched 4G LTE over B4 (1700 MHz) and B7 (2600 MHz) in November 2016. As a large country spectrum licences are not consistent across provinces, additional deployments of B66 (1700 MHz) and B13 (700 MHz) are reported. 4G data rates up to 275 Mbps are achievable over the network's LTE-A 2C 4X4 MIMO deployment. B13 (700 MHz) commercial implementation was confirmed October 2018.
