Vodafone Idea Limited, now rebranded as Vi, is a prominent telecommunications service provider in India. The company was founded in 2018 as a result of a merger between two major entities, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, both of which had a substantial presence in the Indian telecom market. The ownership of Vi is shared between the UK-based Vodafone Group and India's Aditya Birla Group, with the latter holding the majority stake.

4G Network
Vodafone's 4G LTE network was launched on the 8th December 2015 using the B3 (1800 MHz) band. Idea's LTE network was launched days later on the 23rd December. The network was enhanced with B1 (2100 MHz) shortly after.
India's network deployments are complex due to the large population and segmented administrative regions leading to different spectrum allotments. Not all bands are available nationally.
