Euskaltel S.A. is a telecommunications firm based in Derio, Basque Country, Spain. The company was established in 1995 through a joint initiative by the Basque Government and several Basque savings banks. The company's name, "Euskaltel", translates to "Basque-Tel" in English. Euskaltel operates a fibre optics network within the region, developed in partnership with the Basque gas company. The firm utilises the small nearby town of Urnietatel as a testing ground for its operations. The company underwent a rebranding in 2006, adopting the stylised, orange-coloured butterfly as its logo.
